Maryland police discovered a body in Frederick after a tip from a radio call-in show. A man, identifying himself as Joseph, called into "Elliot in the Morning" on DC101, claiming he found a dead body while exploring nature. He reported seeing the body near East Avenue and Monocacy Boulevard about three weeks ago.

The caller shared, "I sent Diane a few pictures of me exploring nature, and look what I came upon," sparking the host to urge him to contact the police. Following the call, Frederick police searched the area and confirmed finding a body in a wooded campsite. However, the remains are yet to be identified due to advanced decomposition, and the cause of death is still under investigation.

Police do not suspect foul play and believe there is no threat to the public.

Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the identity of the deceased and the cause of death. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Nicole Smith at 301-600-2102 or email NESmith@FrederickMDPolice.org. The state medical examiner is working on an autopsy, and results are pending.
