The Friday Five: 6/22/18 Panic! At The Disco, and more!

Welcome to the Friday Five here on The Project! We're back!

Sorry for hiatus, a lot has been happening this past month! I slept for three weeks straight after Bunbury, and only awoke just this morning to the sound of new Panic! At The Disco music.

Each Friday, we'll feature five things you need to know, including albums releases, new singles, music news, and more to kickoff your weekend.

1. Album Release: Pray for The Wicked by Panic! At The Disco

Panic! At The Disco released their sixth studio album today, and once again, we get peak Brendon Urie. This album is big, bright, and boisterous. Urie lets his vocals soar over fantastic, jubilant instrumentation, and it's clear he took something away from his time on Broadway in Kinky Boots and plastered it all over this record.

"High Hopes" is my favorite off the record, but make sure to give "Roaring 20s" and "Dancing's Not A Crime" a few spins. Thanks to everyone who tuned into The Project or the iHeart Radio live stream last night and watching them knock "Bohemian Rhapsody" out of the park.

Panic! At The Disco will be at US Bank Arena on January 26th, 2019. Tickets went on sale today, get yours now!

2. Music Festivals: HellFest, IDays, and Isle of Wight

All the festivals that are worth a damn this weekend are overseas! The stand-out leader is HellFest, going down this weekend in Clisson, France. It features Judas Priest, Avenged Sevenfold, Iron Maiden, Deftones, and basically every metal/ hardcore rock act that is currently active. It's ridiculous and if you find yourself with an extra plane ticket to France, please contact me immediately. Brush up on your French and blow off your weekend plans.

Second place goes to IDays in Italy, featuring The Killers, Pearl Jam, Queens of the Stone Age, The Offspring and more. Got some Euros' laying around? Again, your weekend plans weren't that great anyway, start traversing Europe immediately.

Honorable mention goes to the Isle of Wight Festival, celebrating it's 50th year. It features Depeche Mode, Liam Gallagher, and The Killers. Seriously, why don't you have your passport in hand, heading to the airport right now?

3. New Single: Halestorm release "Black Vultures"

Halestorm released a new single today, "Black Vultures," off their upcoming fourth studio album, Vicious. The new album will be out on July 27th.

If you missed them in Cincinnati last month, no worriesHalestorm is also about to kick off the second leg of their tour with In This Moment and New Years Day, make sure you catch them in Columbus this August at EXPRESS Live!

4. New Album: Bad Witch by Nine Inch Nails

Nine inch Nails released their ninth studio album today, it's first full-length since 2013's Hesitation Marks. Technically, this album is considered an LP, but with only six tracks, it's feel like an EP effort. And it's nothing ground breaking from Trent Reznor. This won't be an album that turns a casual NIN fan into a regular one, but give it a spin if you've got some down time and a love for industrial music.

5. New Music Video: Panic! At The Disco releases video for "Hey Look Ma, I Made It"

Honestly, it's the week of P!ATD, and nothing else even comes in a close second. Along with the album drop today, we got a brand new music video for "Hey Look Ma, I Made It," featuring Urie as a puppet, used by the evil record label rep, while the puppet does drugs and gets into trouble. It's fantastic and funny. It is the week of Brendon Urie, and all we can do is revel in all his glory.

Have a fantastic, Panic-filled weekend!
