Salute a Soldier 5k

HONORING OUR FALLEN SOLDIERS, VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

On Saturday, September 8, the Salute A Soldier 5K Run/Walk will be held in Sunman, IN. The fundraiser will benefit the Sunman American Legion and scholarship funds in memory of, Sunman resident, PFC Tony Seig who lost his life while serving in Iraq in 2006. Registration will be held from 7:45 – 8:45 AM. A 15 minute presentation, including a gun salute, will be held at 8:45 AM. The run/walk will begin at 9 AM at the Sunman American Legion Post 337, 412 Eastern Ave, Sunman, IN 47041. A special ceremony for the awards program will follow the run/walk. The run/walk is on a flat course and is timed/chipped by Stuart Road Racing.

All veterans and active members of the military will be honored at this event. The race route will be lined with flags recognizing current and past service members by name. The flags can be purchased for $10.00 each.
