Jack Black Compares Visiting Jack White's House To 'Going To Graceland'

Over the summer, Tenacious D recorded a song at Jack White's home studio in Nashville while on tour, and though Jack Black documented the visit (as much as he could) he gave some more details about the encounter during a recent visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

"Tenacious D, you know that's my pride and joy. That's my baby," Black gushed about his band with Kyle Gass. "Love to go on tour. We got a rock opera, Post-Apocalypto, and we toured all around the world. We even stopped off in Nashville and we got a call from Jack White."

"He was like, 'Hey, if you're comin' through, why don't you come by and record a lil somethin' at my home studio,'" he continued. "And we were like, 'Yes, we can't say no to that' 'cause he's a legend. He's my idol. I love Jack White."

Once the Jacks locked down a recording sessions, Black and Gass went to work writing a song about "how terrified we were to go rock for Jack White," and "Don't Blow It, Kage" was born.

Aside from the opportunity to record at White's studio, the comedian said visiting his home was quite the experience. "It's like going to Graceland," he said. "Every room has been, like, meticulously curated with magic and humor and weirdness...Literally every square inch of that place has a moment of magic."
